Other than the KRZR,
Motorola has also shown
off the MOTOMING A1200
Linux Smartphone and the
MOTOFLIP W220 stylish
budget clamshell at
Mobile Asia 2006.
The quad-band,
Linux-operated business
Smartphone offers a
240x320 (QVGA)
touchscreen, a document
reader (OCR) feature, a
2-megapixel digital
camera, Bluetooth, 8mb
built-in memory and a
microSD/TransFlash
memory card slot,
miniUSB connection, MP3/AAC/FM
Radio player and a
standard 2.5mm stereo
jack socket. Lloyd
Mathias, director,
marketing, Motorola
India, said that the
"Motorola Ming comes
with a business card
reader and is meant for
executives who would not
want to compromise on
design or features."
Surprisingly, the
MOTOMING doesn’t offer
EDGE or 3G, resorting to
plain old GPRS for
internet connectivity. A
tough choice at Rs
16,500. |

Camera
The Motorola MOTOMING
A1200 handset carries a
2 MP camera. The camera
interface is exactly
like any other Motorola.
The camera supports the
following resolutions -
1200õ1600, 768õ1024,
480x640.There are plenty
of features and styles
to choose from, like the
switch just above the
lens that allows you to
switch between macro and
landscape shooting. In
this three quality types
are available ? high,
normal, low. The night
mode, light settings
can?t be overlooked. For
personalizing pictures
photo editor software is
great. The quality of
snaps taken by the MING
is not always adequate.
There are also a few
options for different
lighting and for arty
shots there are options
for black and white,
sepia and others.
Picture clarity on both
video and stills is ok. |
